I’m writing it because I want to talk about my favorite music.
I didn’t originally watch Japanese animations (although everyone did). I was about Ghibrina, Future Boy Conan, and Detective Conan, but after listening to Japanese future bass music, I started to look for it. I enjoy Annie so much, but after watching Annie, I started to listen to the soundtrack, and before I knew it, Annie’s songs were all over my playlist. But there are songs that I think are really well-made. So I’m going to introduce them briefly and talk about them under the theme of Japanese anime songs. (The article below is embarrassing to tell the musicians, but I hope you’ll just think of it as a normal music consumer’s feeling that this was good.) I only link songs licensed on YouTube because it’s hard to upload in compliance with copyright.
“Yasashii Onnanoko” in “My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected”
It’s a piano song that I thought was good when I first saw Annie. It’s a really comfortable piano song, but I don’t think they know it well. Personally, I liked the background music more than op or ed. I recommend it when I want to chill comfortably.
“Enfermant les yeux” by “March comes in like a lion”
This song also feels calm. It’s a Japanese animation song, but it’s in French. It’s a song that introduces animation by being inserted into the OST at the very beginning of the animation. Annie itself is a healing material, so there are a lot of comfortable and instrumental songs on the entire soundtrack. (I recommend Super.)
“Mousou Express” in “Monogatari Series”
Monogatari series is famous for Renai circulation and platinum disco. I think you know Kimino Shiranai Monogatari a lot, but I heard that supercell made this song pop up.
Also, there is a song that is one of the top 5 popular songs by artist panel called Monogatari series in Spotify. It’s called Mousou Express. Reinai circulation is originally a character song of a character named Nadeco, and Mousou Express is a character song of a black version of Nadeco in the drama. I liked the rhythm of Jeonju, and I found the main melody attractive, like that. Also, I liked the guitar’s tone because it showed the atmosphere well. In particular, I liked the crazy laughter used in Jeonju and the feeling that “Tokidoki” was used well in the right place at the end.
“China” by Ping Pong
Annie named Pingpong is based on a sports cartoon about table tennis. In order to express the urgency and adrenaline of the game, most of the tracks are fast tempo and raise the adrenaline of the listener. According to a YouTube comment, I think the genre of this music is pump. I used to listen to electronic music with few lyrics, so it was a goal for me. It’s a genre, so I think it’ll sound fresh and fun for people who like electronic music. In addition, I recommend “Heroappers” and “Hero them” in a similar sense. (If you keep listening, you’ll be distracted.)
“Cycle” by The Ancient Magus’ Bride.
I really like this song. Is it a ballad? Anyway, it’s a song that combines acoustic instruments, electromagnetic guitar, and dreamy vocals. It’s a song I listened to when I was having a hard time studying for the exam, so it’s impress Especially, I like the lyrics of this song, so I don’t think I’m listening to it without knowing the lyrics. It’s a song that makes me feel that the lyrics can be an explanation of the overall music. The piano cover version of this song is famous, and I think some people like this song more than other OSTs. I also recommend a piano cover.
“Black Butler” by “Ich bin der Welt abhanden gekommen”
I think this is an orchestra song. Until the first 2 minutes, I thought it was just a normal background music, but the string instrument like haegeum was amazing. The melody progress was so beautiful, reminiscent of traditional Eastern music. (I looked up the composer’s profile and he was a graduate of Tokyo University College of Music.)It’s a dark and Victorian feeling that’s unique to a black butler.
“Lit” in “A Silent Voice”
If you saw the form of the voice, the last scene and the background music would have been impressive. Lit is the last scene of the main character’s growth story, the background music that highlights the resolution of ‘conflict’ in literature. It’s a song that heightens with the main character’s emotions from the calm piano introduction and ends calmly.)
In addition, “Real Falls Blues” by Cowboy Bebop, “Nee lunar” by Shirobaco, “Koi wo shita no wa” by Voice form, etc. I think there will be no end to this.
While listening to Annie’s music, I thought about the barriers to the entry of Annie’s music. Not only is animation subculture, but there are ops, eds, malnourished lyrics and themes that are biased towards certain genres, but I think it’s because watching animation and listening to it are different. Of course, there are many good songs to listen to (personally, I’ve heard and watched “Rain” in the Garden of Language). I think there are songs that I don’t like when I listen to the theme of the song or the feelings of the characters or lyrics that I don’t understand in Japanese.
If you zoom in on that idea, music isn’t everything you hear? That’s what I think.
If you have any other animation songs that you don’t want to listen to alone, please recommend them. 🙂
